Hello there! My name is Dan and I’m thrilled to guide you through the exciting journey of preparing for your engagement session. I want to help you look your best in your photos. Here are some tips on what you should wear to your shoot.
Firstly
Coordinate your outfit without matching it exactly. Outfits that go well together create a harmonious look in the photographs. Try to avoid wearing identical clothing, which can look a bit overdone.
Secondly
Stick to timeless colors. Neutrals, soft pastels, earthy tones, and elegant jewel tones always photograph beautifully. These shades add a classic and timeless feel to your photos, ensuring they never go out of style.
Next
Keep the location in mind while choosing your outfit. If we're shooting in a field, downtown, or by the water, your outfit should vibe with the setting. This helps you blend seamlessly into the environment and makes the photos look more natural. You should steer clear of outfits with clashing or overbearing crazy patterns.
For brides or brides-to-be
A long flowy dress is perfect. It gives great movement and a super romantic feel. Soft fabrics like lace, chiffon, and satin are ideal, and neutral heels or sandals work well. You can go barefoot if we're outdoors. Add delicate jewelry, a wide-brim hat, or floral accents for a touch of elegance. Hair down in soft waves or a loose updo always photographs beautifully.
For grooms or grooms-to-be
A well-fitted suit or dress shirt with suspenders or a vest is a great choice. If you're going for a relaxed look, a neutral blazer and chinos are a great combination. Open collars feel natural and cozy, and leather shoes, clean sneakers, or boots work well depending on your vibe. A watch or any jewelry can add a finishing touch to your look.
BRING EXTRA OUTFITS
It’s easy to overthink and overcomplicate what to wear for engagement photos, but you also don’t want to feel self-conscious and nervous in front of the camera because you don’t feel great about your outfit choice. That’s why I always recommend bringing extra outfits to the shoot.
DON’T FORGET THE ACCESSORIES
Some outfits look great without accessories, but some look absolutely AWESOME with that little extra something added in. Basically, accessories can also add a little fun and casual creativity to a shoot. For example, you could add a hat to your look or go with a cool set of sunglasses.
Remember, these are just suggestions. Ultimately, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and yourself in what you're wearing. After all, I'm here to capture your unique story in a way that feels real, relaxed, and uniquely yours. I can't wait to work with you!
